Faith Working
for the Good of All

Events

We'll be at Bronco Bash on September 1, 2026!

Tuesday, September 1 | 3–6 pm | Sangren Mall

Kick off the new school year by finding your people and exploring what’s happening around campus. UCM will be at Bronco Bash, WMU’s annual welcome-back festival, and we’d love to meet you.

Stop by our table to say hello, meet Rev. Nate, learn more about UCM, and find out how you can connect faith, community, justice, and action at WMU.

Come as you are. Bring your questions. Find your community.

UCM is a progressive Christian campus group with support from Presbyterian, UCC, and other LGBTQ-affirming religious communities in Kalamazoo, MI. Our Campus Minister, Reverend Nate Craddock (he/they), is ordained in the United Church of Christ and began work in May of this year. He is looking forward to connecting with students and staff at WMU this year.

OUR MISSION

UCM believes that what the world needs most are people with a hopeful vision of what the world could be and the competence to become agents of change in a hurting world, wherever they may be. We seek to infuse the task of education with a vision of the redeemed world,

where the hungry are fed

and children are nurtured,

where the homeless find shelter

and the prisoners are set free.

OUR INITIATIVES

Community Outreach

We collaborate with local organizations to facilitate hands-on service projects, engaging students in meaningful work that directly benefits the Kalamazoo community. Each project is crafted to address specific community needs, ensuring a positive impact.

Faith Exploration

Our programs encourage students to deepen their spiritual journeys through workshops, discussions, and reflective practices that connect faith with everyday life.

Leadership Development

We empower students to take leadership roles within their communities through initiatives that cultivate skills, strengthen their voices, and inspire action.

Social Justice

Our focus on social justice encourages students to understand systemic issues and equips them with the tools necessary to advocate for meaningful change.

Service Learning

We offer opportunities for students to learn through service, merging academic experiences with community needs to foster growth and create well-rounded leaders.
